Some argue saline implants are better because if they rupture they are safer. This patient had a saline rupture and you can see once the saline is absorbed there is a cosmetic defect. Saline implants even if ruptured will not save you from another procedure. The silicone implants we use are a gummy consistency and if ruptures, sticks together. They do need to be removed but they often do not look deflted. We removed the capsule, the deflated implant and replace with a 600 cc moderate plus silicone implant in the inframammary fold.
